Daffodil Festival

Daffodil Festival

The 16th Annual Round Rock Daffodil Festival is an interactive, family-focused event taking place on Saturday, March 6th, from 9am-4pm. The day’s activities include free concerts & live entertainment, free children’s games and prizes, a raffle and live auction, food booths offering your favorite festival treats, and an array of artists, boutiques, jewelers, craftsmen, and service providers on hand to share their talents. This year’s festival will be the largest to date and we look forward to showing you a great time!
The 2010 Daffodil Festival will be held at Allen R. Baca Center for Seniors and Community Activities at 301 W. Bagdad Avenue, Building #2. Festival admission is free. Parking is also free, but somewhat limited. A second parking garage is available four blocks to the east.
All proceeds from the Festival are used by the Round Rock Senior Citizens Foundation to benefit facilities and programs for seniors in the Round Rock area. Since we are a certified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, your contributions may be tax deductible. To reach our goals and succeed in our mission, we need your help. The Round Rock Senior Citizens Foundation is a 501(C)(3) tax exempt organization, so your participation expenses may be deductible. Our tax ID number is 74-2625764. We are currently seeking assistance in the following areas:

VOLUNTEERS:

The Foundation Board consists of only a handful of members, and as you might imagine most of us are seniors ourselves. To execute an event like the Daffodil Festival we rely on the generous assistance of people like you. Whether it’s distributing fliers weeks before the festival, blowing up balloons the day before it, or tidying up once the crowds have gone home, we need all the help we can get. If you have any time to spare, be it 10 hours or 10 minutes, we’d love to discuss how you can get involved. Please contact us for more information.

DONORS
Two key sources of revenue for the Festival (and in turn for the Foundation) are our raffle and live auction. We are currently securing large prizes to include in our raffle. We will sell over 5000 raffle tickets this year and the prize along with your companies name will be included on each one! Raffle ticket sponsors will be acknowledged throughout the day of our festival in announcements and on our Sponsor Banner, in our “Thank You” ad in the Round Rock Leader, on our website, and in our promotional materials. Smaller prizes will be used in our live auction the day of the festival and will receive acknowledgement on our website. All donors will receive a certificate of thanks from the Foundation. Please contact us to make a donation.

SPONSORS
The Festival could not be the success it is without our wonderful sponsors. This year we’ve added greatly to our marketing and promotion for the event and expect a great turn out. We’ve also added many more opportunities to acknowledge and thank our sponsors. See the chart below and please contact us to sponsor the Festival.

SECURITY
Because the Festival has grown large, there is the need for a security plan and volunteers to implement it. In fact, if there are volunteers with experience, we would encourage them to submit their plan as well as their volunteers. The City of Round Rock emergency responders will be aware of and monitoring the Festival, but they have other continuing duties and emergencies to attend as well. Therefore, they cannot dedicate resources solely for this event. While we don’t anticipate any problems, we’d like to have experienced people mingling with the crowd and enjoying the activities while alert for situations which may need to be stabilized until official help can be notified and respond. Experience with security, safety, fire and first-aid will be useful. Planning would include making arrangements with City of Round Rock emergency responders such that a clear liaison and response process is agreed upon prior to the Festival. If you have, or know of others who may have, such interest and experience, or if you simply wish to participate in this way, we invite you to for discussions. Let us know how you would like to participate.
